Margot Robbie is in talks to star in a film about Hugh Hefner – years after turning down his offer to appear in Playboy.
Hefner, who died last month aged 91, was a huge fan of the Hollywood actress and wanted her to appear in his magazine, saying: “She should be in Playboy! Send her a message!”
At the time Margot declined and said she had “put her family through enough”. But now she is in talks with director Brett Ratner to play one of Hef’s wives in new film Rush Hour alongside her Suicide Squad co-star Jared Leto, who will play the US tycoon.
A source said: “Margot turned the offer down before but this is different. She’s considering it.”
Jared is also keen to secure a top role in the film for Margot, who starred in The Wolf of Wall Street with Leonardo DiCaprio.
The film source added: “Jared is working on the movie with his buddy Brett and they’re really pushing for Margot to have a major role. She’s perfect for a part and he’s not going to give up until she accepts.”
Hugh was married three times – first to student Mildred Williams in 1949, who had two children with him, then in 1989 to Playmate of the Year Kimberley Conrad, 36 years his junior.
She had two sons with him before they split in 1998. In 2012 he married Playmate of the Month Crystal Harris.
It is not clear which of the wives Margot would play.
