Everything’s coming up Margot! As the Australian actress does the final press rounds for Suicide Squad, which opens August 5, she will have a little more to talk about now that she’s set to star in and produce an adaptation of Matt Ruff’s 2007 book Bad Monkeys. Robbie will play the role of Jane Charlotte, a woman who gets tossed into the psychiatric wing of a jail after being arrested for murder and telling the police she’s actually part of an evil-quashing organization called the Department for the Final Disposition of Irredeemable Persons. For short, they go by “Bad Monkeys.” The cops don’t buy Jane’s yarn, and the story becomes a psychological thriller that forces viewers to sort out whether she’s lying, crazy, or executing some kind of greater plan from behind bars. This is just the most recent film brought under the banner of Robbie’s production company, LuckyChap Entertainment, which is also developing I, Tonya, the story of disgraced Olympic ice skater Tonya Harding, and the noir thriller Terminal. Robbie is set to star in both — just as God intended.
Suicide Squad hits theaters in just two weeks
Margot Robbie and Cara Delevingne are now co-stars of Love Magazine’s new issue, as well as upcoming movie “Suicide Squad.”
The two stars were photographed by Willy Vanderperre for Katie Grand’s LOVE16’s latest issue.
“The first concert I ever went to was The Belle Stars. I remember my outfit vividly: white off-the-shoulder cut-off sweatshirt from Way In at Harrods, pale pink pleated skirt with dark pink stripes from Dorothy Perkins and white flat pointed winkle-picker shoes with a dark and pale pink heel and matching bow detail from Birmingham Market. Jo Parker had peroxide blonde hair and wore the opposite: pink top, white pleated skirt from Topshop,” Grand said.
“We were everything, we knew the words to every Belle Stars song and we could take on the world. Generally we would tie bits of tat in our hair and pull our tops off our shoulders and pout A LOT. So the thing is, strangely this issue is an ode to my young teenage years. Cara and Margot ARE me and Jo Parker, and it’s no coincidence that Miranda Joyce — previously the foxy sax player in The Belle Stars — did the make-up,” the magazine’s editor-in-chief and and stylist added.
Robbie appears in the new issue sporting a printed wool jumper by Balenciaga, a striped Vetements shirt and more. Delevingne was styled in a blue striped men’s shirt by Vivienne Westwood, pearl necklace by Miu Miu, round sunglasses by Marc Jacobs and more. Syd Hayes was responsible for the stars’ hair, and their make-up was done by Miranda Joyce.
ESPN’s 2016 ESPY Awards are airing tonight, and Warner Bros. put together a fun little sketch with New England Patriots star Rob Gronkowski to help promote Suicide Squad to the sports crowd!
In the video above, we see Margot Robbie as herself, talking to Suicide Squad set therapist “Dr.” Rob Gronkowski, a play on the psychiatrist that Robbie portrays in the movie — Dr. Harleen Quinzel. Before she goes crazy and turns into Harley Quinn, of course!
The sketch ends with Gronkowski sympathizing with Robbie’s crazy “squad”, saying that his squad (the Patriots) gets a lot of hate too.
It’s a fun little sketch, and once again shows that Warner Bros. is thinking outside the box with the way they promote Suicide Squad. Check it out above! The movie will be in theaters on August 5th.
“I’m thrilled to be the face of Deep Euphoria Calvin Klein,” the Suicide Squad star, 25, said in a statement. “This is my first advertising campaign and I am honored it is with Calvin Klein, an iconic brand I have known and loved for many years.”
Robbie’s confidence is a cornerstone of the ad. “Calvin Klein women are…provocative and liberated, and the Deep Euphoria woman embodies all of these facets with an added layer of adventure,” said Melisa Goldie, chief marketing officer for Calvin Klein. “We see Ms. Robbie, who is a risk-taker, really exploring the multiple aspects of her personality through fantasy during the Deep Euphoria Calvin Klein advertising campaign.”
In the sexy image, The Legend of Tarzan star lays across a velvet sofa in a sequined, eggplant-colored Calvin Klein Collection gown, straps falling off her shoulders. A hunky shirtless man with six-pack abs can be seen lounging on the armrest of the furniture.
The scent, which debuts at Macy’s stores in September, features hints of white pepper, geranium, jasmine sambac and patchouli and will retail for $52 to $92 (1 oz to 3.4 oz spray bottle). Body lotions, shower gels and rollerballs in the heady fragrance will also be available in the fall.
