Billed as Mad Men in the skies, the big-budget series romances the era of the jet age and the now-defunct US airline Pan Am and its stewardesses. It premieres in the US on September 25 and later on the Nine Network.
Unlike her record with departure lounges, this is one flight Robbie cannot miss. She is strapped in beside three other immaculately uniformed co-stars, including Hollywood favourite Christina Ricci.
“It’s just terrible, I miss flights all the time, more than I probably catch one,” a frank and glowing Robbie revealed to the Herald Sun during an exclusive chat on location in Long Island, New York, yesterday.
Robbie, 21, left Neighbours after three years and arrived in Los Angeles for the aptly named pilot season at the beginning of this year.
After auditioning for the Charlie’s Angels reboot TV series, producers Sony Television told her they’d prefer her for Pan Am.
“So I picked up a script and I went, ‘I love it, it’s amazing’,” she said.
