The UK are set to take off with the showing of “Pan Am” On UK Channel, BBC Two:
Mike Vogel, Margot Robbie and Karine Vanasse star in US period drama Pan Am, due to start on BBC Two on Wednesday 16 November 2011.
The iconic Pan American World Airways comes under the spotlight this week with a documentary on the story of Pan Am on BBC Two on Saturday 12 November 2011 followed by the first two episodes of Pan Am, a 22-part period drama, on Wednesday16 November 2011. Set in 1963, the show follows the lives of four hostesses and two pilots as they help shape the pioneering airline.
The star is pilot Dean Lowrey (played by Mike Vogel), the first of a new breed of flyers not trained in the war. A farm boy, he is a bit young for the responsibility he is given but wants to prove himself to the airline. His co-pilot is Ted Vanderway (played by Michael Mosley), who in contrast comes from a wealthy family, but one with a dark secret.
The hostesses are rebellious Maggie Ryan (played by Christina Ricci), flirtatious Colette Valois (played by Karine Vanasse) and sisters Kate (played by Kelli Garner) and Laura (played by Margot Robbie) Cameron.
