SAUCY thigh-high boots are set to bring out the minx in Melbourne’s fashionistas.
Currently big in Europe and the US, the daring boots, finishing at the top of the leg, leaving only a hint of skin, will be the hottest look on the street this autumn and winter.
Neighbours star Margot Robbie is a fan of the trend, showing off a pair of stretch Tony Bianco Fanatic boots, and a Pauw mini-dress from Melbourne boutique Cose Ipanema.
Fashion-obsessed Robbie, who plays Donna Freedman on the long-running Channel 10 show, said she planned to wear the skin-tight leather look with a short skirt, balanced by a loose top.
Luxury French label Louis Vuitton has created a pair of $4000 gold brocade thigh boots, but Aussie stores are reproducing the sexy style in a more affordable version.
Tony Bianco, director Anthony Bianco, said the trend has been seen on the streets of New York, international catwalks, and London’s high streets.
Melbourne is following.
“We see the trend being very strong for winter, from flat over-the-knees to heeled over-the-knees, in a kaleidoscope of colours and finishes such as suedes and leathers,” he said.
Tony Bianco’s new collection of thigh-high boots range from $159.95 for the Fanatic style, and up to $329.95. Sales are strong despite the cooler weather being still weeks away.
