Commonwealth Games organisers ‘pitch for Margot Robbie to play a starring role in opening ceremony’ after Delta Goodrem is confirmed.

The Commonwealth Games’ Opening Ceremony will kick off on Wednesday.

And according to Monday’s The Courier-Mail, organisers ‘have made a secret pitch’ to Margot Robbie, to play a leading role.

The reports come after songstress Delta Goodrem was confirmed.

The Courier-Mail claims that organisers are hoping Margot, 27, will be one of the six celebrities to run with the baton, prior to it being handed over to Prince Charles.

Miranda Kerr, Greg Norman and Keith Urban, are also believed to have been invited as VIP spectators throughout the duration of the games.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Margot’s management for comment.
