SEARING spring sun has done little to cool the fashion and fun of the final day of the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
The star of the day among the rich, famous and their hangers on was Wolf of Wall Street star Margot Robbie in the Swisse marquee.
“It’s so good to be back in Melbourne, I miss my family and friends all the time so it’s good to see them,” said The Wolf of Wall Street star, wearing Ellery.
Robbie praised Melbourne as the place where it all began for her, as she caught up with some of her former Neighbours co-stars in the Swisse marquee.
“I learnt so much while I was living in Melbourne and working on Neighbours,” she said.
“It’s always special and at the forefront of my mind. Neighbours is an education that you can’t get anywhere else. It prepares you for work overseas and in Hollywood.”
Meanwhile, Robbie’s boyfriend Tom Ackerley, slipped into the marquee unnoticed about an hour after the actor arrived.
Ackerley, an assistant film director based in London, will meet Robbie’s family while in Melbourne.
“It’s good,” Robbie replied when asked about her relationship with Ackerley.
“He hasn’t been to Melbourne before. We only have limited time here.”
The couple were snapped last week in London looking loved-up.
Robbie will be next seen in Hollywood blockbuster Tarzan and Jane, alongside True Blood star Alexander Skarsgard.
“I wanted Jane to be very independent,” Robbie said.
“She’s obviously co-dependent because it’s a massive love story between her and Tarzan, but I wanted her to be very capable when she was on her own — and also fierce and intelligent.”
