Australian actress Margot Robbie says she is determined to prove to her relatives that she can make it big in Hollywood after landing a role opposite Leonardo DiCaprio.
The 23-year-old actress from the Gold Coast is best known for her role as Donna Freedman on Neighbours, which earned her two Logie Award nominations.
But now the actress is making a name for herself in Hollywood. She is about to appear in Richard Curtis’s romantic comedy About Time and then as DiCaprio’s wife in upcoming Martin Scorsese film The Wolf of Wall Street.
Robbie admits her family have been slow to accept the scale of her success.
“I’m still trying to convince (my family) that this is actually a career and not just a hobby, and that it’s what I plan on doing with my life,” she said.
“They’re slowly coming around to it.”
The Wolf of Wall Street will release in Australia on December 12. About Time will release on October 17.
